I hate reading news updates where people whine about how long it’s been since
the last update, so fuck that. We’ve played a bunch of gigs now with our
new drummer Steve Jones and the general consensus from long time fans and
amongst ourselves is that the band has never sounded better.
Our “Freedom Fries” 7 inch came out two weeks after the ‘election’ and
disturbingly takes on more meaning every day. Please: pay attention and MAKE
SOME NOISE! Your individual freedoms and the safety of the entire world
are at stake right now, don’t be LAME, raise your voice.
We played an
amazingly fun and LOUD house party at Zak’s on New Years Eve which proved once
and for all that none of us can handle our liquor very well for very long.
Highlights included Ray Wyland sitting in on guitar for ‘Live Free’ and then
bass for the rare performance of ‘Too Hot To Taste.’ The ensuing
‘no-star’ jam that followed had Ray and Zak on guitar, August singing, Dan
Beloit (guitarist, the Valley) on drums and Mark LaFalce (drummer, Glorious Day)
on bass for a couple of surprisingly impressive Valley covers. As if
that weren’t enough excitement for the neighbors, Glorious Day turned in an
impromptu set at 2 freakin A.M.!
Another great gig was The Valley’s CD release party at
the Sunset. Thanks to some heavy rotation and constant plugging by
local radio the club was packed from stage to door and was a great night for
both bands. Our set featured very enthusiastic fans up front, one of
whom split his head open in all the excitement. Now that’s rock and roll.
Speaking of raising your voice, our new album “GET THE
REVOLUTION OUT OF YOUR HEAD” on Steel Cage Records finally hits the streets in
March. Twelve riot inciting blasts of premium High Octane Rock and Roll,
supercharged by Tim Kerr and Johnny Sangster. Everything about this
album involved a lot of collaboration, both inside the band and out, and we
can’t thank our producer, label, friends, and fans who helped us enough.
We went through a lot of shit making this record, from the very good to the very
bad, but in the end we really made this one for ourselves, and we’re damn proud
of it.
Get ready for some LIVE TESTIMONIAL cause we’re bustin’
out and taking our stink on the road for the HARD UP ’05 tour at the end of
April. We’ll be rocking the kids, annoying the authorities, and
confounding locals from here to southern California alongside our good pals The
Valley. We’ll post all tour dates on our shows page as soon as they
are confirmed.
So, you can see we’ve been pretty busy here at Earache
Central, but wait – there’s more! We’ll be hauling the old website
here into the garage for a complete overhaul over the next few months, so y’all
come back soon now! Until then GET THE REVOLUTION OUT OF YOUR HEAD!
